3 Reasons Why You Need Professional Carpet Cleaning

Posted on

Do you live in a home that is carpeted? How long has it been since those carpets were cleaned by a professional? While you may vacuum on a regular basis, this may not be enough to keep your carpet as clean as it should be. Although hiring someone to clean your carpets may initially seem like a waste of money, there are a number of reasons why you should at least seriously consider doing so. Some of the most important of these reasons to get carpet cleaning include the following:

Better equipment:

There are a lot of vacuums and other carpet cleaning accessories on the market today. You may even feel like you have invested a small fortune into getting the very best equipment you could find. It may indeed be the very best residential equipment that you can purchase, but it's still unlikely to be quite as powerful and quite as good at taking up dirt and stains as professional equipment. In general, the equipment used by professionals is going to be bigger with stronger motors. As a result, they should be able to get more out of your carpet in one pass than you can remove with multiple passes. The end result will be that the carpet that looks cleaner than it has in a long time.

No residues:

Some of the formulas that are sold as carpet cleaners can actually make your carpets look dirtier than before when you use them. This is a combination of a poor formulation in combination with machines that simply aren't powerful enough to remove all of the cleaning liquid from your carpets. The sticky residue that's left behind attracts and traps dirt to make your carpets look more worn-out than they did before. But carpet cleaning professionals use different formulas and more powerful equipment, as already stated. Not only will they remove existing dirt but they won't be leaving behind any sticky residue that will trap future dirt.

Longer carpet life:

All carpets have a relatively limited lifespan. Some may only last for an average of 10 or 15 years while better-quality carpets might actually last for 20 or 25 years. But this is only an average. If you have regular professional carpet cleaning done, you may be able to add an additional 5 or 10 years to what's expected. Without having professional cleaners come in, it's possible that your carpet's lifespan will be shorter than expected - especially in high-traffic areas. Since carpet can be expensive to replace, it makes sense to do what you can to prolong its life as much as possible.
